The Phoenix Motorcycle Club and the Cafe Racer Club of SA have been the pre-imminent road racing motorcycle clubs in Adelaide for many years. Having previously hosted events independently of one another but consistently drawing from the same user base, a decision was made to better manage efforts for the planning and co-ordination of motorcycle road racing events in Adelaide, combining under the name "CAFNIX".

In the years since, the Cafe Racer Club has reformed as social club with stronger focus on group rides, whilst still continuing to support road racing in South Australia. The Phoenix Motorcycle Club currently co-ordinates two SA State Championship Rounds each year, along with multiple rounds of Bracket Racing at Mallala, a great first step towards racing once the track day bug has you hooked!
